August Foods has been started by Harmeet Sandhu and Paul Jaggi who, between them have more than 25 years of experience in the sale, marketing, development and products of All Natural and Organic Food products.

Natural and Organic Foods is a 20 Billion industry that is growing at more than 10 % per year. This compares favorably to the Mass Market Grocery that is growing at less than 2%.

Natural Food industry is characterized by small to medium sized companies and young entrepreneurs with great product concepts who need help to execute those concepts. In addition, more and more retailers like Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Target, Stop & Shop etc. are trying to establish their store brand loyalty by offering products under their own labels. They all want to concentrate on their strength of marketing and brand development and leave the production of the product to outside vendors.

August Foods plan to fill this niche by leveraging its tremendous expertise in producing all Natural and Organic products in a small, flexible, plant that can cater to the initial low volumes of these companies and entrepreneurs and yet be ready to cater to the subsequent high volumes. In addition, August Food will offer the added expertise of running a USDA inspected plant that can offer meat, poultry and seafood based products which are not offered by many plants in the Natural Food space.

Also, August Foods plans to use its experience and expertise at developing new, exciting products and as a point of difference, offer the same to its partners. In the long term, August Food may launch some of these unique products under its own brand.
